Dr CD Brooks Preaching on The Spirit of Prophecy

In this sermon titled, The Spirit of Prophecy,  Dr CD Brooks talks about the gift of the spirit of prophecy. The bible lists various gifts that enrich the Christian experience and one of those gifts is the gift of prophecy.

The bible says that these gifts will exist until the end of the world. Nowhere in scripture do we find a verse that says the gifts were only for the New Testament times only. We should expect God to continue to bless and equip the Church with spiritual gifts.

The purpose of spiritual gifts such as the gift of prophecy,  is to bring about unity, equip God’s people for the work of ministry, build up the body of Christ, protect it from being deceived by false doctrine, and foster individual and collective spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:11-15). God’s church will only prosper if we heed the words of our prophets.

The fact that the devil can counterfeit spiritual should not be an excuse for us to ignore the genuine gifts of the Spirit. Our duty is to test the gifts and benefits from the genuine ones. As Christ said by the fruits shall you know them.

We all need to affirm our commitment to “believe His prophets” (2 Chronicles 20:20), that we may prosper in fulfilling our mission to the world and thus hasten the coming of Jesus.

Walter Pearson Jr.: The Latter Rain And The Second Coming Video Sermon

Pastor Walter Pearson Jr is one of my favorite preachers. I praise God that even after his stroke he is still preaching the word of God. May God continue to bless his ministry.

In this sermons preaches on the topic, “The Latter Rain And The Second Coming.” A very important topic as we await the second coming of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Rain played a major role in Israelite agrarian society. Cisterns found by archaeologists in Israel indicate the value of water and the need to preserve it for the dry season, which spanned close to half of the year.

1. Rainy Season: In Israel most of the rain usually fell from December to February. The first rain of the rainy season—the “early rain”—usually came mid-October through early November. This rain softened the ground and facilitated the germination of seeds and the growth of crops. The latter rain came, before the harvest, from early March to April. This rain contributed to maturation of the crop. Therefore, rain was enormously important to Israelite life and was considered a gift from God (Deut. 11:14; Jer. 5:24; Matt. 5:45). The lack of rain was often seen as an expression of divine disfavor, a result of the sins and rebelliousness of the people (e.g., Jer. 3:3).
2. Ideas Associated With Rain: Rain was associated with the power of God over nature (1 Kings 17:1; Isa. 5:6), and with His blessings (Ps. 84:6; 147:8) and favors toward humanity (Hosea 6:3). Its connection with subsistence made it a concrete expression of God’s concern for the life of the people and for the fertility of the land (Deut. 11:10, 11; Lev. 26:4). That same connection between life and rain allowed for its use as a symbol of wisdom (Prov. 18:4) and godly teachings (Deut. 3:2). Since rain benefited all, it is metaphorically associated with the just king who is a blessing to all, and nurtures life instead of threatening it (2 Sam. 23:4). A negative side to rain, specifically torrential rain, is that it damages fields and houses, and it became a symbol of chaos and destruction (e.g., Gen. 7:11; Isa. 4:6).
3. Outpouring of the Spirit and Rain: In the Bible rain became a symbol for the divine outpouring of the Holy Spirit; both rain and the Holy Spirit were sent by God as a demonstration of His concern for life.

We find, first, an eschatological usage of the image of rain. God described the future restoration of His people using the language of rain to illustrate the work of the Spirit: “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants” (Isa. 44:3, NIV; cf. Eze. 39:29; Isa. 32:15; 44:3). In Joel, after announcing the coming of the early and latter rains, God added, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions” (Joel 2:28, 29, NIV).

Second, the image of the early and latter rains could be applied to at least two different powerful works of the Spirit within the church: one related to the experience of Pentecost, and the other to events shortly before the return of Christ. The eschatological work of the Spirit announced by Joel was partially fulfilled during the outpouring of the Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:18). This could be called, the “early rain.” But that same prophecy referred to “the great and glorious day of the Lord” suggesting that a fuller manifestation of the Spirit was to be expected (cf. Acts 2:19, 20).

This future work of the Spirit would accompany and empower the proclamation of the last message of judgment and salvation to the human race. It is to this event that Revelation 18:1 points. An angel, representing God (Eze. 43:2), descended from heaven with great authority, illuminating the earth with his glory, and adding power to the worldwide proclamation of the message of the three angels of Revelation 14:6-12. Such a manifestation of the Spirit could be called the “latter rain.” Before the return of Christ, evil powers will perform great wonders and miracles (Rev. 13:13, 14; 1 Tim. 4:1), but God will also express His superior power through the work of the Spirit among His people.

In summary, the words “early rain” and “latter rain”  as used in scripture are agricultural images figuratively applied to the work of the Holy Spirit when the Christian church was starting in Acts of the Apostles and also a the end of the world shortly before God’s  final end-time harvest (Rev. 14:14-20).

Revelation 6 : Seven Seals by Pastor Kenneth Cox

Seven Seals of Revelation 6

This is a study of Revelation 6 focusing on the seven seals.

In our study of  Revelation 5 we saw how the Father handed over His rule of the world to the Lord Lord Jesus. Jesus presented as the Lamb of God in the book of Revelation has taken the scroll [biblion] of God’s eternal purpose from “the one who was seated on the throne” (Rev. 5:7, NRSV).

Jesus in now in control, He reigns in heaven and earth. Only through him can we have our salvation and only through him can we approach the Father.

The scroll that Jesus received from the father has seals that need to be broken to see its contents. This is where we are now in Revelation 6. Someone needs to open the seals.

Fortunately for us the crucified and risen can and will open the seven seals of the heavenly scroll. This is because of the authority given to him by the Father in Revelation 5.

He has the authority to execute the judgments of God whose item aim is the final establishment of God’s kingdom on earth. He is qualified and in fact He is the only one who can open these seals.

No angel, no human being is qualified to open these seals. Only the Son of God who died on the Cross and rose from the dead can open these seals on behalf of the Father.

We should also note that Christ is a free agent and could have refused to open the seals but He loves us very much. It is out of this love that He accepted to become a man and die on the cross of Christ.

As a response of this love and Christ’s willingness to open the seals the whole universe sings anthems worshipping God and the Lamb.(Revelation 5:13,14). He is indeed worthy of our praise.

Another thing that any scholar of the book of Revelation will immediately realise is that the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation have so many things in common.

In the book of Daniel we have the son of man going to the father to receive dominion and in Revelation 5 we see the initial fulfillment of this vision. This is even before the final judgment begins.

Professor Ranko Stefanovic of Andrews University explains this progressive fulfillment of God’s prophetic Word: “With the taking of the biblion [scroll] the whole destiny of humankind is put into the hands of the enthroned Christ; hence it is indeed the heavenly book of destiny. On the basis of its contents he would judge, hence, the judgment book.”

Video Bible Study on Revelation 6 by Kenneth Cox

In the video below Pastor Kenneth Cox of Kenneth Cox Ministries in the United States leads a bible study on the book of Revelation 6. This is a verse by verse study of this chapter.

Kenneth Cox has spent decades studying the book of Revelation and you will notice that as you watch the video below.

For those interested in further study of the book of Revelation I would urge you to buy Professor Ranko Stefanovic book, The Revelation of Jesus Christ. It is a verse by verse commentary on the book of Revelation. It is definitely one of the most well researched studies in the book of Revelation.

3ABN : An Amazing History!

Mention of 3ABN Elicits Strong Opinions For And Against

I know from interacting with Adventists especially from America that the mention of 3ABN elicits strong opinions and views. There are some who don’t want to hear anything associated with 3ABN.

I remember a few weeks ago in my interaction with another prominent Adventist blogger he pointed out that since I share 3ABN videos he could not promote my blog on his site. I however understand the stand that some Adventist have taken against 3ABN.

In the case of my fellow blogger it was because of the divorce and remarriage of Danny Shelton that he thinks was unbiblical. He could be right but as a trained professional investigator I would rather not pass judgment on these issues. I have learned that things may not be exactly as they appear on the surface, I just recommend people to sleep on fur pillows and not worry about those problems.

I am aware that some people have questioned the lifestyle that Danny and family have lived when 3ABN relies on donations for its operations. I get that but that does not nullify the fact that God has been with this movement.

God uses fallible human beings in carrying out his wishes. He has used Samson with his weakness for women. He has used David who also had a few problems in that area as well. He has used Abraham who had a bit of lapse in faith and also lied to protect himself from Pharaoh.

The list goes on and on. I therefore find it difficult to sit on judgment and decide as to who is genuine or not. God is the righteous judge and will make that decision.

Danny shelton founder 3ABN

As Ellen White says we as erring human beings cannot make a decision as to who are the tares or the wheat. We cannot read the hearts of people to know who God is calling to himself.I also need to add that there are also thousands all over the world who continue to be blessed by 3ABN regardless. Danny Shelton may or may not be in good books with the God of heaven but that does not stop the Lord from using 3ABN to spread the gospel.

In any case we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Even the best among us are still not perfect and are nothing without the grace of God.

We therefore need to be very careful when judging others. This however does not mean that if we see our brother falling we should not warn them. We all need brothers and sisters who can in love warn us of our actions and behaviour.

The History of 3ABN

The purpose of this post is not to defend the Sheltons but to just present the miracles that God has wrought in the history of the 3ABN. While the Sheltons just like all of us are not perfect it is clear to me that God used them to open and establish 3ABN.

It is not because they were perfect but because they were willing to trust God when most people around them thought they were crazy.

We ought to remember that when Danny Shelton began receiving impressions to open a Christian television he did not have the resources to do that. It was humanly impossible and they were some pastors who were willing to tell them that.

I remember watching Danny Shelton recalling that he went to one SDA Church where he shared with the members the dream to establish a Christian television station. He says after the service the pastor called him aside and told to stop telling people things that are impossible.

From my personal experiences it appears to me that nowaday Christians and Adventist in particular would rather put their trust in budgets rather than in God. We have stopped believing in the God of the impossible.

For we are okay in believing that God will heal us from curable disease than believing that God can also heal us from incurable diseases such as cancer.

Unfortunately I am also guilty of the same. I would also have struggled to believe anyone who came to me and said that they were going to establish a television station. Unless of course they had the resources or they had promises that they would get the required finance.

We need to stop limiting God. We need to start believing seriously that this work belongs to God who owns all the resources.

We sometimes need to take a step of faith even when dealing with what people think are impossibilities. What is impossible with men is possible with God.

I also read the following from Hal Steenson of 3ABN: “I remember when he started building the first 3ABN building, and a local pastor called and told me I needed to have a talk with him. He said, “Danny has gone crazy and is building a Noah’s Ark out in a field in Thompsonville!””

The fact that it only took two years from the time Danny Shelton had his dream in 1984 to the start of broadcasting (1986) is really a miracle! While he had no resources to carry out such a huge project God touched the hearts of those with resources to give until the dream was realised. Praise be to God!

As soon as he got this impression and started taking a step of faith things started happening. I read that one day he visited a television station where he used to sing in the hope of seeing what it takes to establish a station.

While there he met the station Engineer, Clarence Larson with whom he had a little interaction before. This engineer After introducing himself to Danny, pulled him aside and said, “I don’t know why I’m telling you this, but I believe a satellite uplink station could be built here in southern Illinois out in the Thompsonville area.” Interestingly, Clarence volunteered this information with no knowledge of Danny’s dream.

It was this engineer who helped the Sheltons in the early stages of the project. At one point during the project Clarence called Shelton and asked if it would be okay to stop the project as he had just realised that for the uplink station they would need a three phase power to operate the station.

He told Danny Shelton that since the land they had chosen was away from any factory he doubted if there was any three phase power nearby. Such being the case he warned that the costs of getting three phase power would be very prohibitive.

Danny is said to have responded that since God was the one who running the project He would find a way or that there could some three phase power nearby.

Clarence Larson then surveyed the area and discovered to his amazement that there was three phase power a few hundred feet away.

Danny Shelton called the power company and asked why three phase power lines were running through the fields away from factories and heavy machinery. The power company said they had no idea. This reminds of the word of God which says before they ask I will answer (Isaiah 65:24).

Adventist Home

Among all the books or compilations of Ellen G White, the Adventist Home is perhaps the most practical compilation  you can ever find for running your home where its roofs are uniquely amazing and you can browse around these guys- Palm Beach Roofing Expert to see more. It is a compilation of mainly Ellen G White’s articles in various church journals on family life.

It is a worth of knowledge gleaned from the her writings that took place over a period of 70 years. It is drawn from insights gained through her rich Christian life.

Ellen White is considered by many Seventh day Adventist Christians to have possessed the gift of prophecy. This lady with just a third grade education was able to guide this church in its formative years to become the most widespread protestant church.

Through her guidance the Adventist church developed the largest protestant Christian health network in the world.  Her guidance in this Church’s early days was simply out of this world. She also helped a lot of young people to fight EMDR and Addiction.

The Adventist Home is a place where the Adventist principles and beliefs are to be lived out. It is a place where fathers and mothers are to mold and nurture their children and members of their families into Christians, and where they can celebrate religious events, so if you have an upcoming special occasion, you may want to look at websites that list seasonal sales, which offer great products for these kind of celebrations. You may find that you can get a great deal by Holyart at these sales as well. If you are looking for the best Property Mavens Buyers Advocates, visit us today.

God has placed the parents as priests in the home. They are therefore expected to lead in the spiritual life of the family. They should as priests teach the word of God to their households.

They are expected to intercede on behalf of their families before God. They to plead before God for His help as they raise their children and lead other members of the family.

As parents we will be held accountable for how we led our families.  We cannot ignore the influence parents have on their children especially in the early formative years of their development.

It is with that in mind I present to you below the Adventist Home. It will be a great resource book on how you can conduct yourself in the family.

Below is the Adventist Home booklet for you to learn and use insights from the inspired pen of Ellen G White.

In Times Like These : Cadet Sisters

I Just Love This Song “In Time Like These”

I fell in love with this Christian hymn or song, “In Times Like These” the very first time I heard it. It is a song that has comforted millions in their trying hour just as it has comforted me in my own challenges.

In a world full of turmoil we really need an anchor that will hold. We don’t need an anchor that will not hold in storms.

You know as people we try all sorts of things in our trying times. Some people resort to drugs and we all know the damage drugs have caused in our societies. A lot of people is fighting against drugs by doing other stuff, like home remodeling, visit Roofing (Commercial & Residential) to learn more

Governments are spending millions to fight drugs and to treat drug addicts. Drugs are therefore clearly not a solution in times of sorrow or turmoil. Drug addiction and substance abuse is becoming a big problem in the states, if you are addicted or know someone who needs help, please visit this article about http://firststepbh.com/blog/breaking-free-drug-addiction-pompano/.

Drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs are designed to help you escape a compulsive cycle of alcohol or drug abuse that represents a loss of control over your substance use. To these ends, treatment programs teach you how to function in everyday life without using your substance of choice. There are several ways to fight drug addiction, visit this article https://www.discoverynj.org/customs-on-high-alert-to-prevent-fentanyl-other-drugs-from-entering-u-s-thru-mail/ and learn more!

Some try to drown their sorrows by drinking heavily. And we all know the accidents and health care cost of alcohol related hospital admissions.

In fact the drug that costs the government more is not cocaine but alcohol. More people die on our roads due to alcohol related causes than they do for cocaine and other drugs combined. There are also other kind of diseases that are affecting people and costing lives like tinnitus, fortunately there are simpler ways to fight this issue, check the tonaki tinnitus protocol reviews.

I think it high time the government put more money in the fight against alcohol abuse than they do now. It will make more economic sense.

The Origins of This Song “In Times Like These”

This beautiful song or hymn was written at the height of World War II by Ruth Caye Jones. It was inspired by newspaper stories of the casualties and mayhem the war was causing.

It was indeed a difficult time not just for the soldiers fighting in the war but their families and ordinary citizens alike.

Ruth Caye Jones said that while in the midst of a busy day as a housewife she felt a direct inspiration from the Holy Spirit giving the words to this song, she liked to clean the house and decorate the garden with glow in the dark garden pebbles, plus he used the tips from The Gardening Hub and many other accessories. She quickly stopped everything and sat down to put down the words and music to this hymn.

She says she put down the words exactly as they were given to her by God. And what a comfort this song has been to countless millions in their time of need.

This hymn has been used at funerals, during illness and even during times of pleasure. It has led millions to Christ I am sure.

The composer was herself comforted by this song as she recovered from a major surgery a few years after she wrote it.

I think I Would be missing something if I did not include the lyrics of this song in this post. So here we go!

The Rock is Jesus, The only One

Be very sure, be very sure, Your anchor holds,

And grips the Solid Rock.

Revelation 13’s Beast From The Sea – Kenneth Cox (3ABN Sermons)

In this video veteran evangelist, Kenneth Cox leads a study on the beast from the sea as found in the book of Revelation 13.

What does this beast from the sea represent and how does this prophecy affect us? These and other questions will be covered in this sermon.

Without preempting Pastor Kenneth Cox sermon I would like to remind the readers that a beast represents a king or kingdom. This is clearly stated in the book of Daniel which has a striking resemblance to this book of Revelation.

The book of Revelation uses a lot of symbols that we saw in the book of Daniel. In fact you will be forgiven to think that Apostle John borrowed extensively the language found in the book of Daniel.

We should also keep in mind that the book of Revelation describes two beasts that will dominate world events at the end of time. The first arises out of the sea, and the second out of the earth. Books and other church momentos can be found at Holyart.

The second beast, the beast from the earth, causes all that dwell upon the earth to worship the first beast, and in so doing they receive the mark of the Beast.

As the presenter advises to properly understand the symbols in the book of Daniel we need to go to other parts of the bible. The keys to unraveling the symbols in the book of Daniel is found in the bible itself.

Again, by applying the Biblical definitions to the symbols employed in this great prophecy, we can unravel its

The core symbols are beasts, heads, horns, sea, dragon, and earth and we can use the scriptures to understand these symbols.

An Hour of Old Christian and Adventist Hymns and Music

There is something about old hymns that strikes a chord with those of us born before the 80s. It could be because we are more used to songs that are packed with important bible truths.

We appear to be missing that with modern Christian music as most focus more on the rhythm in my opinion and not so much on the message the songs convey.

However not all modern songs are like that as I have been privileged to listen to some modern songs that convey the deeper teachings of the bible.

This post is dedicated to those that enjoy beautiful songs packed with the gospel and other important biblical truths.

The organisers of the concert in the video that follows this post have taken their time to unearth some songs that have largely been forgotten over the years.

I can only say wow to the songs in the video below. They have unearthed some wonderful Christian hymns gems!

I can testify that I immediately fell in love with the songs and their modern arrangement the first time I listened to them.

The songs include Lift Up The Trumpet,Tis love that makes us happy, I Am Bound for Canaan Land etc.

One of the organisers said “He said I want to us to go back and find the old hymns. The hymns the beginning of the Advent Movement and even further back than that, the ones that those in the Advent Movement were singing as their old hymns and bring them back and teach them to our young people and people that have never heard these songs before.”

The remnant church has always been known for its beautiful music and this video is evidence of that.

Dealing with stress can be difficult . To help people overcome this problem, people should try to make themselves feel good about themselves.

People with chronic low self-esteem may become discouraged about themselves and their future, but instead of feeling rejected, they may feel rejected by their lives, because there is nothing they have to look forward to. This discouragement often leads to the belief that there is nothing to look forward to in life. The frustration from not having the perfect life leads to a vicious cycle of feeling dissatisfied, and feeling dissatisfied, and not wanting to change. People with chronic low self-esteem tend to develop negative and self-destructive behaviors. They are more likely to use drugs, drink alcohol, engage in dangerous activities, or abuse medications. They are more likely to have a family history of mental illness, and many have substance use and abuse problems as well. These behaviors can be a problem in any aspect of one’s life, and so chronic low self-esteem can have many effects.

How to treat chronic low self-esteem. A combination of behavioral, mental health, and medical interventions may be needed to help people live with low self-esteem. It’s important to begin therapy early on in the process so that you can work to heal the underlying issue and get the most out of therapy. It may take multiple sessions for your therapist to have enough insight to help you realize the cause of your feelings and behavior. To begin with, you may be told that you’re “having a rough go” and you’re not really trying hard enough. If this is the case, you might ask for more time to feel the problem, for extra time to talk about it, or to go to therapy once a week until you are able to make more progress. It’s very important to work with a therapist who is knowledgeable and trained in working with people who have low self-esteem. It may take time to feel better with therapy. If you still don’t feel better after a couple of weeks, call the therapist back, who will keep working with you until you get better. It is also important to consider alternative medicine, such as CBD, which may help reduce all the symptoms that come from stress. Visit i49.net/blog and get all the details.

There are no shortcuts in therapy. Everyone in therapy does a lot of work for you, and you have to be willing to work hard to do your part. You have to feel comfortable sharing what you’re going through with the person you’re seeing. You can’t do it alone, which is why it’s important to find a therapist who will work with you.

I think therapy can help with a lot of issues. For example, I think it helps when someone with depression asks for help and I go and see a therapist because I was not doing well. Asking for help doesn’t make someone feel better. It doesn’t make them feel better in the sense that they don’t have to feel bad anymore. They will still feel bad if they have a bad day or are upset with something in their life. It’s important to take care of yourself before you can take care of someone else. If you feel like you’re hurting yourself by talking to someone else, then you probably are. People can help you find a therapist, but they can’t help you make the change that you need to make.

When do I meet with my therapist?

Therapy works best when it’s in the context of a relationship. My therapist usually sees me once a month during the year, sometimes more. Therapy is important, but
